2012 Pay Award
The University is pleased to announce that agreement has been reached on the 2012 pay award and an uplift of 1% has today been announced by UCEA.
Definition of ‘uplift’:
tr.v. up·lift·ed, up·lift·ing, up·lifts
1. To raise; elevate.
2. To raise to a higher social, intellectual, or moral level or condition.
3. To raise to spiritual or emotional heights; exalt: music that uplifts the spirit.
Experiential definition based on the above percentage pay rise, in light of the current 3.2% rate of inflation: ‘Uplift’ = real term pay cut of 2.2%
